Correction-there actually are trees where I will be travelling. They are Arctic Willow and they grow to about 25mm height. They make Bonsai look like Old Growth forest!

Packalarm
Well, I have had a chance to set up and try out the tripwire system using the Packalarm I ordered from the US. I have to say I am very impressed. It worked very well indeed. That was with a circle of a diameter of approximately 50 metres and using aluminium poles to run the line around (there are no trees in Greenland where I will be travelling). I have a second unit on order for the second, lower run of line and will now feel confident that nothing is going to arrive unannounced :-)
