There's a bear in there.....

Last week I heard about a polar bear that was spotted sleeping on an ice floe near Tasiilaq, the town where I am starting my trip. I have just been sent a link to some photos taken by Tim James of the Wales Swansea University Glaciology team.

The bear is on the far side of Kong Oscar Havn. That puts it around 2 kms from the township, not very far at all!

It is a beautiful animal, obviously well fed. All the same, I do hope it has moved on before I arrive :-)
